OFFICER NOMINATIONS & ELECTIONS = Richard Moore was unanimously elected to a second term as Committee Chair and Kelly Velasco was unanimously elected to a second b. FACILITY FEE WAIVER POLICY - Jennifer Hanson led the discussion of the policy document and received committee support for the document as presented with two additions to the application page as follows: Doug Brown to try to add another line in the FOR OFFICE USE term as' Vice Chair. FUTURE PARKI PLANS OVERVIEW-HANSON Park Master Plan - while the Recreational Facility Standards have been approved by the City Council the completion ofal Park Master Plan Document has been stalled given ii. Bike Trail Master Plan - being developed by the Cities Engineering Department-status iii. Creekside Park- - discussions with the School District ret the joint use of the Creekside Elementary School park areai is stalled awaiting the resolution of City/School District discussions rei the newe elementary school in Lincoln Crossing-o off Calderon Circle & iv. Atkinson Park- a new park off Venture Drive and Lakeside (northwest quadrant- - out toward the airport) - is "85% complete. Kids play structure isi in place as is all the sod. To be completed in the near future is the addition ofa water fountain and a picnic table higher priorities. Action schedule To Be Determined (TBD) unknown Brentford Circle. with a shade structure. 4/26/201811:52AM SIDE DISCUSSION - Staff and Committee agreed that all open areas in future neighborhood parks should bel level so as to allow for local sports "pick up" activities. V. Robert. Jiminez Park -1 the completion oft the park (adding 2 baseball/softball fields and a long field for soccer, etc.) is now projected to bei in thei fiscal year 20/21 timei frame. vi. Aitken the completion oft the park (adding a long field for soccer, etc.) is now projected The Mayor's letter ofs support has been submitted.. Jennifer has been listed as the primary City contact re additional action- - but has yet to hear from anyone - Ueltzen to follow up. Doug gave al brief report on how the program was doing. Have had ai few re-newels - but this is stilla a work in progress. Have had one new sponsor with ai few good prospects being Doug presented the new agreement - well done, and well received. While there are special agreements with William Jessup University (WJU) and the Potters Baseball Club, the Rules and Regulations in this agreement are the: same as in the special agreements. Councilmen Hydrick: suggested that the agreement be shared with WJU -S staff tol handle. a. 2018 ACTION PLAN (TIMELINE, GOALS & ASSESSMENT ACTION) - UELTZEN Roger briefly reviewed the action plan and requested that staff REVIEW THE Assessment Action section and filli in the missing target completion dates- mainly in the Facilities Jim reported that his tennis article should bei in this week's Messenger- = and it isa and is really good.. Jim's next article in going toi focus on the breadth of baseball & softball taking HOW DO WE ENSURE THAT THIS HAPPENS? to be in thei fiscal year 20/21 time frame. b. 10 MINUTE WALK CAMPAIGN -H HANSON FIELD: SPONSORSHIP: - BROWN pursued. d. MCBEAN STADIUM FIELD USE PACKET/AGREEMENT: - BROWN 8. COMMITTEE BUSINESS Assessment section. b. NEWS MESSENGER ARTICLES DATZMAN place in Lincoln. Dan Gilliam suggested that we add a General Discussion section to our meetings which we have done. 9. GENERAL DISCUSSION a. Unsafe condition at Coyote Pond staff reported that they are: still working on finding a sustainable cost-effective solution - will keep the committee advised. b. Damage to the parks from flying drones and/or riding motorized vehicles in the parks. Staff plans to begin adding control signage in the parks ina about 2 weeks. Reclaimed water at Foskett Regional Park -t turn oni is still pending - waiting for a couple of ordinance changes. 10. NEXT SCHEDULED MEETING: June 6, 2018 11.
