(1) Council discussion regarding making the necessary continued findings under AB 361 to continue with public meetings in a virtual setting due to the spread and risks relative to the Omicron variant of COVID-19; and ifso desired (2) Adopt RESOLUTION 2022-32 making findings consistent with the requirements of AB361 to Kristine Mollenkopf, City Attorney, gave a brief staff report. She stated the State's mask mandate was set to expire on February 15, 2022 and the wastewater sampling done at the City's Wastewater Treatment Facility (WWTRF) show that the COVID19 virus levels had decreased from approximately 70% to 35% above normal. Al lengthy City Council discussion ensued regarding remaining virtual; having another discussion at the upcoming February 14th City Council' Work Session meeting which would allow upcoming Committeel Commission meetings to be held 100% virtually; not making the determination to remain virtual for convenience but rather based on determination unsafe circumstances still exist; frequency of WWWTRF sampling; and taking action on February 14th with findings the virtual meetings can continue until the next Regular City Council Mayor Andreatta opened and closed the discussion to the public with no comments and called for a motion.
