Council received a presentation from William Jessup University President John Jackson on the Clover Valley Preservation Project and provide any relevant feedback or direction as desired. Councilmember Joiner recused himself at 6:10pm as his family owns property near Clover Valley. President John Jackson along with Professor Michael McGrann presented a project that could secure acreage for scientific research, provide regional outdoor education programs and preserve limited public space for Placer County. Adjoining Cities, school districts, and non-profit organizations will bei included in additional discussions. William Jessup University is exploring commitments with local cities. A Council discussion ensued. Councilmembers gave direction to staff to move forward and explore funding options. Sean Scully, City Manager, stated he will provide next steps. Councilmember Karleskint and Joiner agreed that Councilmember Silhi should bei the alternative delegate. Councilmember Silhi stated councilmember Karleskint will also be a delegate in case the meeting goes late, because he is driving. Council has confidence in Mayor Andretta's' ability to cast votes on behalf of Mayor Andreatta asked ift there were any public comments.
