As the summer season nears, the lake communities are seeing an increase in remodeling and renovation  projects. Permits issued for the month are;  1) 1 addition for living space increase. 2) 5 deck replacements or new construction. 3) 3 sheds and or storage structures. 4)1 chimney replacement.  We have issued 3 property maintenance violations for various problems. One zoning violation was sited, and one violation for construction without The continuing problem of unpermitted stone quarries is still a major issue. This office has been working with the DEC office in Syracuse to try and implement a remedy or at least a system of checks and balances to assure that, at the least, the proper restoration bonds are in place. One avenue may be for the town to take over as lead agency, we plan on  a building permit.  discussing this with the appropriate agencies.
