TOWN OF MOUNT GILEAD BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS SPECIAL MEETING MINUTES 110 West Allenton Street, Mount Gilead, North Carolina, 27306  MG Mount Gilead Est.: North Carofina  May 21, 2020  The Mount Gilead Board ofCommissioners met at 7:00 p.m.at the Mt. Gilead Fire Department, 1061 E. Present for the meeting: Mayor Pro Tem, Tim McAuley, Commissioners, Paula Covington, Vera Richardson and Mary Lucas, Town Manager Matthew Christian and Town Clerk, Amy Roberts.  Allenton Street for a Special Called meeting. The meeting was open to the public.  Via Phone: Mayor, Chip Miller  ITEMI.  INTRODUCTION  Mayor Pro Tem McAuley called the meeting to order at 7: 03 p.m. and offered a  moment ofs silence and the Pledge of Allegiance.  ITEM II.  ADOPTION OF THE. AGENDA  Commissioner Covington: made a motion to adopt the agenda. Commissioner Richardson  seconded the motion. Agenda was unanimously adopted. COMPREHENSIVE PLAN PRESENTATION  ITEM III.  A Zoom presentation and slide show was presented to the Board by Taylor Broyhill of Mosaic Civic Studio. Taylor gave an update on the progress thus far with the 2040  Comprehensive Plan. CLOSED SESSION  ITEM IV.  A. NCGS 143-318.11 (a) (6) - Personnel  Commissioner Richardson made ai motion to goi in to closed session to discuss personnel. Commissioner Lucas seconded the motion. At the request of'Commissioner Lucas, the Town Clerk was asked to leave for the closed session. Commissioner Lucas agreed to  take closed session minutes.    From Commissioner Lucas' minutes:  Paula Covington made the motion to go back into regular session. Vera Richardson seconded the motion and it was carried. Vera Richardson made the motion to accept the resignation ofl Matthew Christian as our Town Manager. Paula Covington seconded thei motion and it was  carried.  ITEM V.
