Invocation Pledge of Allegiance to the American Flag Amendments to the Agenda Public Hearings/Public Comments: A. Adoption of Resolution Approving the 2023 Pasquotank County Land Use Plan Staff recommends adoption of the 2023 Pasquotank County Land Use Plan. In February 2023, the Board of Commissioners approved the submittal of the draft plan to the NC Division of Coastal Management for a completeness review, as well as state and federal agency review. These reviews have been completed, and it has been determined that the plan meets the state and federal requirements for adoption. Following adoption by the Board of Commissioners, the plan will proceed to the North Carolina Coastal Resources Commission to be considered for certification. Attached is a copy of the resolution, as well as a memo, which includes Chapter 5 - Future Land Use and Chapter 6 - Plan Recommendations, Land Use Management Topics, & implementation. Chapters 5 &6 are the two chapters that will be used by the Board of Commissioner and Planning Board for future land use decisions. The other chapters in the document basically provide background information. B. Public Hearing on Zoning Text Amendment ZTA#23-01 ZTA 23-01 is a proposed amendment to the Pasquotank County Zoning Ordinance to eliminate duplexes as a permitted use in the A-1, Agricultural District. The Planning Board reviewed this request on May 25, 2023, and recommended approval of the text amendment based on the consistency statement included in your packet. Attached is a copy of the summary for the request that was prepared by the Planning Department staff. 6. Old Business: A. Consideration of Appointments to Board and Committees: At the August 7th meeting, the Appointments Committee recommended the following appointments, and the Board accepted the nominations. No additional applications 1 have been received. Approval of Additional County Holidays for Landfill and Convenience Sites The Finance Committee has recommended approval to add Easter Sunday, July 4th and Christmas Eve as holidays for the Landfill and Convenience Sites. Approval of Citizen Request to Use Former Albemarle District Jail The Finance Committee has recommended approval to allow Mr. Wade Wells (Scared Straight Project) to film outside of the former Albemarle District Jail, and to allow a staff member to spend an hour inside the facility to escort the film crew to F. Adoption of Resolutions Approving' Water Supply and Water Shortage Plans North Carolina General Statute 143-355 () requires that each unit of local government that provides public water service shall develop and implement water conservation measures to respond to drought or other water shortage conditions (Local Water Shortage Response Plan), as well as prepare and submit a Local Water Supply Plan.
