MEETING CALLED TO ORDER Ms. Marilyn Bunce, Chairman, called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. II. INVOCATION Ms. Bunce pronounced the invocation. III. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE IV.APPROVAL OF MINUTES Ms. Bunce led all present in the Pledge of Allegiance. Mr. Sides said the minutes did not list him as an attending member. Ms. Kepes made a motion to amend the. January 4, 2024 minutes. Mr. Cotton seconded the motion. The motion carried by a unanimous vote. Mr. Sides asked ift the property runs parallel to the railroad. Mr. Metcalf said that the applicant would be able to answer that question. Mr. McCurry explained the projects relation the flight path overlay in regards to Camp Lejeune. Lori Morris, 306 New Bridge Street. She said the front faces the main highway. There will be multiple accesses. The slivers are right ofway easements. There will be buffering. There is currently no commercial hub in the Verona area. The railroad right of way is in the property. Mr. Sides asked ifit goes to the right of way. Ms. Morris said it comes right up toit. Mr. Sides asked ift there were any wetlands. She said that signage was an issue. Traffic on High Hill is likea racetrack and it is getting worse. The area has been residential and should stay residential. Ms. Bunce said that DOT has high standards for new developments. Mr. Metcalf said that the traffic count in 2022 was 1,800 and in 2018 it was 1,600. Ms. Kepes made ai motion to recommend approval. Mr. Williams seconded the motion. The motion passed Ms. Kepes made a motion to adopt the Consistency Statement for PREZ-2024-00002. Mr. Williams by a unanimous vote. seconded the motion.
