PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE Mr. Jerome Shaw, Chairman, called the meeting to order at 6:30 p.m. Mr. Jerom Shaw, Chairman led all present in the Pledge of Allegiance. III.A APPROVALOFI MINUTES AND DECISIONS Mr. Smith made the motion to approve the January 03, 2024, minutes. Mr. Youngblood seconded the motion. All members were in favor and the motion passed. IV.SPECIAL USE APPLICATION SUP-2023-00018- - Channel Marker Builders requested a Special Usel Permit to establish an accessory structure forward ofthe principal structure on a 0.45-acre parcel at' 741 Chadwick Shores Drive, Stump Sound, NC known as Tax Parcel 773B-28. Minutes January 23,2024 Page 2of3 Mr. Carter Metcalf provided an overview of the application. Mr. Fountain asked ift the setbacks have been met. Mr. Metcalf said that it meets the setback requirements and has been adjusted for the septic tank Mr. Ryan Tallman was sworn in and stated that he contacted Environmental Health and they said Charlie Trim, 406 Celtic Ash, spoke on behalf of the application. He said his clients wanted to setbacks. that the setbacks for the septic area are good. improve their lot and expand for family use. Mr. Smith asked what kind ofe exterior will the structure have? Mr. Trim said it will have vinyl lap siding and the owners will change the look of the primary residence to match the new building. Mr. Smith asked ifitisal 1 story garage building? Mr. Trim told the Board that this is a 2-story building with a living area at the top. Mr. Brown asked about a structure to the left of the property. Mr. Trim said the structure is on the neighbor's property and he does not know what iti is. First General Conclusion: That the Special Use, if approved, will not materially endanger the public health or safety, ifl located where proposed according to the plan submitted and approved. Mr. Smith made a motion to approve the finding. Mr. Brown seconded the motion. Mr. Smith stated that this will not pose an immediate threat to the public health or safety. The motion passed Second General Conclusion: That the use meets all special uses and specifications. Mr. Fountain made a motion to approve the finding. Mr. Youngblood seconded the motion. Mr. Fountain stated that it appears to meet all required special use standards and specifications. The motion passed by Third General Conclusion: That the use would not substantially injure the value oft the adjoining or abutting property, or that the use is a public necessity. Mr. Brown made a motion to approve the finding. Mr. Smith seconded the motion.
