BURKE COUNTY BOARD OF ELECTIONS 2128 SOUTH STERLING STREET-SUITE 100  MORGANTON NC 28655 TUESDAY FEBRUARY 06, 2024 ISTABSENTEE BALLOT MEETING  5PM  Attending: LHI Kirksey, Sandi Walker, Beverly Carlton, Linda Walker, and Anthony lovino. Chairman LH Kirksey called the meeting to order at 5PM, led the Pledge of Allegiance,  Staff, Kenny Rhyne, Trent Price, and Amy Moore Guests: Carla Kincaid followed by a moment ofs silence. Public comments:  Carla said she was working on getting information out on voting. She complimented the SBOE produced video ofboard members and staff from across the state promoting our election. Shei informed the board she was doing  avoter registration at' Western Piedmont Community College this week. Beverly Carlton made a motion to approve the agenda as presented. All approved.  Business:  Interim Director Kenny Rhyne reported all notifications for the precinct polling locations changes for Icard 1 and Lovelady I had been sent out and posted. Nearly 4 thousand cards on the precinct polling relocation were sent to registered voters in the two precincts. FYI: These changes are permanent. Kenny reported wel have sent out 92 civilian absentee ballots, 2 military, and 8 overseas at this time. MATT Teams are organized to visit several assisted living facilities when needed. He also reported on the training conference with the SBOE he and' Trent attended. resolution to address this concern. This will be on our agenda for the regular meeting. ID exception, 2-1 military, and 3- overseas ballots were processed by the board members.  One issue the board needs to address was to have inj place aj plan for inclement weather. He suggested wel have a He then presented the absentee ballots for processing by the board. 4- absentee ballots, 1- absentee ballot with Trent opened thel DS 200 (ABS) tabulator. The board members all verified the zero public count and signed the Trent fed the ballots into the DS 200 and verified the count of 10 with the board members.
