BURKE COUNTY BOARD OF ELECTIONS 2128 SOUTH STERLING STREET-SUITE 100 MORGANTON NC: 28655 THURSDAY MARCH 21, 2024 EMERGENCY MEETING 11AM  Attending; LH Kirksey, Sandi Walker, Beverly Carlton, Linda Walker, and Anthony  Iovino. Staff; Kenny Rhyne Guests; none Allegiance,  Chairman LH Kirksey called the meeting to order at 11AM, led the Pledge of  followed by a moment of silence. Public comments; none  Beverly Carlton moved to approve the agenda as presented. All approved.  Business:  Interim Director Kenny Rhyne gave a brief update on post election activities. All materials are being packed up and preparations are beginning for the second He has met with Alicia Connelly and felt the meeting was productive. Her concerns have been addressed by the board and our Interim Director. He then mentioned the complaint filed by Carol Snow. This will be on the April regular meeting agenda and will be discussed in detail then. Kenny then discussed the need to combine two polling locations for the second primary. He has written a resolution for relocation of the Morganton 1 polling place from Comma to combine it with Morganton 4 polling place at the Burke Senior Center. The board will need to approve this move, sign the resolution, Sandi Walker made a motion to approve the resolution as presented by the  Republican Primary.  and send it to the  State Board of Elections for approval. Interim Director. All approved. Board members then signed the resolution.  Linda Walker made a motion to meet April 8, 2024 at 10AM to review  applications for Elections Director. All approved.
