YANCEYVILLE TOWN COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES Special Meeting Tuesday August 7th, 2023, 1:00pm  Thei meeting of the' Town Council was held in the Yanceyville Museum of Art at the Yanceyville Municipal Services Building located at 158 East Church Street, Yanceyville, NC and streamed Council Members present: Mayor- Alvin Foster, Mayor Pro Tem- Odessa Gwynn, and  through the WebEx platform on' Tuesday, August 1, 2023, at 6:00pm.  Brian Massey Keith Tatum Council Member absent: Keith Tatum  Staff present in person: Kamara Barnett-Town Manager/Clerk and Miranda Harrelson- Deputy  Item 1: Call to Order  Mayor Alvin Foster called the Town Council Meeting to order at 1:00pm Item 2: Review and Adoption of Agenda - Mayor & Council  Mayor Foster asked Town Council to review the agenda. After a short review, Mayor Pro Tem Gwynn made a motion to adopt the agenda as presented. Thei motion was seconded by  Councilman Massey and passed with a unanimous vote.  Item 3: Consideration of Resolution Supporting the Creation of the Eastern Piedmont NC Mayor Foster asked' Town Council toi review the Resolution Supporting the Creation ofthe Eastern Piedmont NC Home Consortium. After a short review, Councilman Massey made a motion to adopt the Resolution as presented. The motion was seconded by Mayor Pro Tem Gwynn and  Home Consortium  passed with a unanimous vote. *Please see attached  Item 4: Town Manager Updates- Kamara Barnett  Town Manager Barnett indicated that shel had a several announcements.  Friday, September 1st, 2023, Boule' be providing entertainment at our. First Friday Event. Food will be available for purchase and Cruise-in welcoming all cars trucks, motorcycles, etc. Please She also mentioned that the September Town Council Meeting will bel held on the second  invite someone and come out and enjoy thel local talent. Tuesday September 12th, 2023, due to Labor Day.  Yanceyville Town Council Meeting Minutes August 7,2023    Town Manager Barnett noted that the 9/11 memorial dedication service will take place on Monday, September 11th, 2023, on the corner ofNorth. Avenue and Main Street. She explained  that timel has not been specified at the time but will follow up.  Back to School Blast here at the Town Pavilion on Saturdays August 12th and on August 26H, 2023, both starting at 9-1pm. Hosted by local Churches and community outreach programs. Item 5: Informal Discussion/Public Comment- Discussion & Comments must directly relate to  agenda items. None  Item 6: Adjournment  Mayor Foster asked Town Council for ai motion to adjourn. After no: further discussion, Councilman Massey made ai motion to adjourn the August 7th, 2023, Town Council Meeting Mayor Pro Tem Gwynn seconded the motion that passed with a unanimous vote.
