Mayor Vehaun called the meeting to order at 5:01 pm. A. Approval oft the Agenda (0:21) which passed unanimously, 4-0. B. Consent Agenda (0:37) Council Member Thornton made a motion to approve the agenda. Vice Mayor McAllister seconded the motion 1. Approval of the October 17, 2023, Meeting Minutes 2. Approval oft the Tax Collection Report for the period ending September 30, 2023. 3. Introduction of Ordinance 2023-025: - Amendment to Ch. 22. Miscellaneous Offenses for the purpose of updating public safety standards regarding weapons andi firearms. 4. Approval of Resolution #2023-016: authorizing the disposal of town owned property. Council Member Thornton made a motion to approve the Consent Agenda. Council Member Butler seconded the motion, which passed unanimously, 4-0. Public Hearing-Ordinance 2023-026, a request for a text amendment to Chapters 54 oft the Town of Woodfin Code of Ordinances regarding Accessory Dwelling Units. Planning Director Ricky Hurley gave an overview and explanation oft the proposed addition of accessory dwelling units as a new limited use to chapter 54 zoning. Mayor VeHaun opened the Public Hearing at 6:00 pm. There was one public comment in support of Ordinance 2023-026, a request fora text amendment to Chapters 54 of the Town of Woodfin Code of Ordinances regarding Accessory Dwelling Units. Mayor VeHaun closed the Public Hearing at 6:03 pm. 2. (1:01:24) Vice Mayor McAllister made a motion to approve Ordinance 2023-024, finding that it is reasonable, is in the public interest, is consistent with the Town of Woodfin comprehensive plan, and meets the development needs ort the community in that the request: 1. Provides additional clarity and predictability to development requirements, thereby supporting economic development; and 2. Ensures that the Town's planning, zoning, and permitting processes facilitate sustained and positive development and: support the needs of business and industry. 3. Preserve and enhance Woodfin's open space, natural environment, and community character. 4. Promotes an integrated mix of housing types and affordability options. Council Member Butlers seconded the motion, which passed unanimously, 4-0. G. Adjournment (1:03:04) Council Member Thornton made a motion to adjourn the meeting.
