City Ordinance S 41.026 - Uniform Property Address and Address Display is in conflict with the current North Carolina Fire Prevention Code regarding the display of addresses. In the last NCFP Code revision, the requirements regarding the size and stroke of the numbers were changed, increasing the size. Mr. Lowder stated the City's ordinance was being revised in order to prevent confusion and to match the latest NCFP revision. It was clarified that address numbers were tol be on thet front and back doors of commercial properties. Kevin Williamson MOVED to approve the adoption of the Ordinance Revision for 41.026- Uniform Property Address and Address Display. Jimmy Clarida SECONDED the motion. Mr. Lowder presented this item to Council. Columbus County EMS has donated a 2008 GMC Ambulance to Whiteville Emergency Services (VIN# -5758). This vehicle will be used as a utility vehicle and to support UAV Operations. Mr. Lowder stated the City will be given the title for this vehicle. If Council approves the acceptance of this donation, the City will send a Thank You letter to Columbus County EMS. The purpose of this Budget Amendment is to establish a special project fund for the Water and Sewer Line Construction upgrades to the Airport. Columbus County Government will be funding the project and releasing Kevin Williamson MOVED to approve Budget Amendment #9 - Water the assets to the City of Whiteville upon completion. and Sewer Line Construction Upgrade. Mayor Mann read a Thank You card from Council Member Clarida and family. The family thanked Council and Staff for their condolences after the passing of Council Member Clarida's mother, Mrs. Annie Belle Clarida. 10.1) Manager's Update for March 12,2024 Mr. Currie reported on the following items: 10) REPORTS 1. Community Meeting - He stated the Community Meeting went well. He thanked Madison Ward, Robert Lewis, and staff for setting the meeting up and getting people to attend. He noted there were some great booths at the event. While the attendance was a little low, it was noted it was a good meeting to show the public things that are going on with the City and other community agencies. A copy of this 2. Stormwater Funding Mr. Currie stated Engineering Services had applied for funding for the Canal Street stormwater project through Golden Leaf. He stated he hoped this was a successful application. This would aid a number of residents and downtown once constructed. 3. Budget Workshops Mr. Currie stated the Budget Workshops would begin at the next Council meeting. Department heads will present their requests to Council. Mr. Currie noted that this year was going to be a challenge. All the ARP funds have been spent and all expenditures will fall back on local funds. Inflation has really put a strain on the City's budget to continue to supply services at the current level. Mr. Currie stated he and Staff would be considering all options in this budget.
