Michael Anthony Dancil, 403 Baldwin Circle, expressed concern that his home was not included in the flood program. He stated others in the neighborhood were included. Mayor Mann stated the City would contact Mr. Dancil with more 8.1) Proclamation No. 2024-P-35: Recognition for Serenity Harvey, NCHSAA State 2A Champion int the 100 Meter, 200 Meter, and 400 Mayor Mann read Proclamation No. 2024-P-35: Recognition for Serenity Harvey, NCHSAA State 2A Champion in the 100-Meter, 200-Meter, and 400-Meter. Ms. Harvey was brought forward at the meeting for this recognition. She was recognized for earning Gold at the 2024 North Carolina High School Athletic Association Track and Field 2A State Championship. Ms. Harvey won Gold in the 100-Meter, 200-Meter, and 400-Meter. Ms. Harvey was given a round of applause and a standing ovation by all present. Mayor Mann welcomed Ms. Harvey's family and friends to tonight's meeting, as well as Whiteville City Schools Superintendent Jonathan Williams and Whiteville High School Principal information. BUSINESS Board 9) 9.1) Consideration for Re-Appointments to the Whiteville Housing Authority The City received a request from Mary Lisa Ward, Executive Director of Whiteville Housing Authority, to re-appoint Karen Beckham and Shanik Smith to the Whiteville Housing Authority Board. Both re-appointments would expire December 31, 2026. This is at three-year term. This grant is in conjunction with the BRIC grant received for Mollies Branch. The $1,320,000 is in the form of a grant. No other match is required from the City. Mr. Brown stated a Fire Department emergency response vehicle was involved in an accident caused by another driver. He stated the attendees participated in a walk-through of the downtown area, with some noting the City's event was the best regional meeting they had attended. Mayor Mann noted there were many projects since Council Member Collier stated he too was impressed with the downtown area when touring during this meeting.
