Roll call Those Present: Mayor Chad Braxton, Alderman David Dunn, Alderman Billy Whitford, Alderman Todd McMillen, Alderman Dennis Smith and Alderman Earl Wright. III Invocation by. Alderman Smith. IV. Pledge of Allegiance. V. Approval ofi minutes from last meeting. Alderman Whitford made a motion to approve minutes as corrected. Motion was seconded by Alderman Smith and carried. Vote 5-0. VI. Approval of Cash Receipts and Disbursements. Alderman Whitford made a motion to pay bills. Motion was seconded by Alderman Smith and carried. Vote: 5-0. VII. Resolution to Approve Tax Liens. Alderman McMillen made a motion to approve the Resolution to Approve Tax Liens. Motion was seconded by Alderman Whitford and VIII. Police Report. Police Report presented by ChiefJenkins. Officer Michael Anthony is doing on road training. Attended the Jones County check station. Held a community watch meeting on the 12th of March. Attended the Board of Education meeting. Do the Right' Thing Winner for February was Ryland McKeel. Attended the Rotary Club meeting and discussed the fishing tournament. Attended a meeting with District Attorney Scott Thomas about federal prosecution for drugs and heroin. BBQ plate sale IX. Mayor Report. Community Watch meetings are held on the 2nd Monday night of the month here at the' Town Hall. Police Department offers residence checks on homes if you're out oft town. Ms. Joy Harris, wonderful woman of our community passed away this month. She worked with the VFLES for twenty years, as well as our daycare center. America's. Pastor Billy Graham passed away. Vanceboro resident William Kludy passed away. Remember the Parkland, Florida victims' family. Our hearts go out to all who havel lost loved ones. Thanks go out to Alderman Dunn for his hard work and devotion to coaching basketball. We appreciate your time and effort to our children of this carried. Vote 5-0. will be on. April 7th. Applied for a grant from Wal-Mart. community. The windows at the Library willl bei replaced soon. Billy Benton said he would start working on the ditch work next week. No updates this month to the water tank repairs on Bailey Lane. 2018 Senior Games will bel held in Craven County. Chip Hughes, Eric Smith and SheriffJerry Monette will be running for Sheriff this election season. Debt setoffh has been submitted, should receive some money soon. Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. thel library is having story time. We will be closed on March 30"in observance of Good Friday. Do thel Right' Thing is still going well at the school.
