Those Present: Mayor Chad Braxton, Alderman Keith Cannon, Alderman Thad Jones, and Alderman Dennis Smith. Those Absent: Alderman Steve Belrose. III. Invocation by Alderman Jones. IV. Pledge of Allegiance. V. Approval of minutes from last meeting. Alderman McMillen made a motion to approve minutes. Motion was seconded by Alderman Smith and carried. Vote 4-0. VI. Approval of Cash Receipts and Disbursements. Alderman Smith made a motion to pay bills. Motion was seconded by Alderman Jones and carried. Vote 4-0. VII. Craven County Family Literacy Program. Mrs. Regina Edmunds with Craven County Family Literacy Program spoke about the program and how it helps individuals with a second chance to obtain their high school equivalency. Audit for the Town of Vanceboro. He stated that the contract for the 2019 Audit contract Alderman Smith made a motion to amend the 2019 Audit contract date. Motion IX. Mrs. Donna Wright requested for the police department to facilitate a safety meeting at St. James Church of Christ which went well. Our office worked the Craven County Board of Elections security detail. February 18th we attended Career Day at Vanceboro Farm Life Elementary. The police grant money came in for the School Resource Officer. Lift station repairs have been completed that were planned in this year's budget. Election tomorrow for the primaries.
