Mr. Powell asked Council ifthe citizen approached them would they vote to help run the lines to the house. : William Eckard spoke regarding the speed limit on Waterworks Road. RECOGNITIONS: :e RECYCLE REWARDS WINNER: Town Administrator Seth Eckard announced Michael and Cindy Austin as the April Recycle Rewards winners. A credit of twenty-eight dollars ($28.00) will be added to Mr. and Mrs. Austin's sanitation bill and their certificate will be available at the Town Hall for pick up. No Council action was required. YARD OF THE MONTH WINNERS: Mayor Bob Gibbs announced Sawmills Volunteer Fire & Rescue Department, from the 28630 zip code, and Ted and Peggy Laxton, from the 28638 zip code, as the April yard of the month winners. Mayor Gibbs presented Assistant Fire Chief David Price the certificate for the fire department and stated that Mr. and Mrs. Laxton's certificate would be available at the Town Hall for pick up. REQUEST FOR AI DONATIONTO CALDWELL COUNTY SPECIAL OLYMPICS: Jo Ann Miller spoke on behalf of the Caldwell County Special Olympics requesting a donation to help with the purchase of t-shirts and provide lunch for all participants in the Donnie Potter made a motion, and Joe Wesson seconded, to give a donation in the amount of one hundred-fifty dollars ($150.00) to the Caldwell County Special Olympics. PLANNING MATTERS: 5: PROPOSED AMENDMENT TO THE CODE OF ORDINANCE: Town Planner Johnny Wear stated there is nothing in the Town's Ordinance pertaining to Solar Energy Systems. The Planning Board discussed this matter and recommends Council call for a Donnie Potter made ai motion, and Joe Wesson seconded, to call for a public hearing on May 21, 2013 at 6:00 pm at the Sawmills Town Hall to discuss a solar energy systems ordinance. public hearing to adopt the enclosed proposed amendment.
