AGENDA ITEM 7C MEMO DATE: SUBJECT: January 15, 2014 Recognition: Introduction of New Fire Chief Discussion: Mayor Bob Gibbs will introduce the new Sawmills Volunteer & Rescue Department Chief David Price. Chief Price will be on hand to tell the Council a little bit about himself and answer any questions anyone might have concerning the Fire Department. Recommendation: No Council action required. AGENDA ITEM 8A MEMO DATE: SUBJECT: January 15, 2014 Financial Matters: Approve NC Department ofTransportation Contract Renewal Discussion: Enclosed with this memo is a renewal contract from the North Carolina Department of Transportation for routine mowing and clean-up of state right-of- ways. There are no changes from the original contract approved on August 16, 2011. The contract shall be effective for a three year period beginning 1, 2014 through June 30, 2017. Recommendation: Staff recommends Council approve the renewal contract with the NC Department ofTransportation for a period oft three years. AGENDA ITEM 8B MEMO DATE: SUBJECT: January 15, 2014 Financial Matters: Approve Update to Bank Signature Cards Discussion: Due to the recent changes on the Council, new signature cards will need to be on file at the bank. The bank requires a new signature card whenever there are changes in the staff or Council. Two signatures are required for accounts payable checks and the safety deposit box. Recommendation: Citizen's Bank. AGENDA ITEM 10B MEMO DATE: SUBJECT: January 15, 2014 Updates: Community Development Block Grant Sewer Project Update and Monthly Status Report Discussion: Lisa Helton, Project Administrator from the Western Piedmont Council of Governments (WPCOG) sent the attached update for the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Duff Drive are sewer project.
