Closed Session Minutes 3/12/2020 pursuant to NCGSEIBIIANO- Staffing  Opportunities  Derek Foy presented council with aj proposal for a new part-time position for the Town fora Finance/Budget Officer. The position would be a salary-based position of $45,000 annually and is based on an estimate of201 hours per week. Since it is part-time, there would be no health care benefits. The council discussed aj potential candidate and their qualifications. Discussion continued over the separation of duties/powers between staff as previously noted by the auditor. Further discussion surrounded the division of duties between this position and the duties currently being performed by the Alisa Houk, and the desire to reassure. Alisa that herj job was secure and that she was not being replaced. Several members requested additional information about the separation of duties/powers issue sO no decision was made to add the new position at this time. There was some. heated debate about Alisa's job security, and following an exchange between Derek Foy and Mayor John Flynt, the Mayor left the meeting.
