MINUTES TOWN OF STOKESDALE 8325ANGEL: PARDUE ROAD STOKESDALE, NC27357 AUGUST 24, 2021 @ 7PM  SPECIAL CALLED TOWN COUNCIL MEETING  Members Present were: Mayor John Flynt, Mayor Pro Tem Thearon Hooks, Councilmen Derek Foy, Jim Rigsbee and Jimmy Landreth; and Town Clerk Dale Martin. Town Attorney  Tom Medlin attended via Zoom.  1. CallTo Order, Pledge of Allegiance, and Invocation.  Mayor John Flynt called the meeting to order.  2. Citizen's Comments from the Floor (3-minute Limit Per Speaker)  He stated that we will waive the Pledge of Allegiance and Citizen's comments and go into closed  session to discuss land acquisition. 3. Discussion on Land Acquisition.  Councilman Derek Foy made a Motion to enterinto Closed Session in accordance with thel NC General Statutes 143-318.11(a)5) To establish, or to instruct the public body's. staff or negotiating agents concerning the position to be taken by or on behalfoft the public body in negotiating () the price and other material terms ofa contract or proposed contract for the acquisition ofr real property by purchase, option, exchange, or lease; or (ii) the amount ocompensation and other material terms of an employment contract or proposed employment contract. Mayor John Flynt seconded the motion and the vote was all for and: motion carried.  4. Adjournment. Returned to open session at 7:58 PM.  Mayor John Flynt made al Motion to reconvene in Open Session. Mayor Pro' Tem Thearon Hooks seconded Councilman Derek Foy made al Motion to adjourn the meeting.
