Our mowing schedulei is continuing, andl Ifeel the guys have done a great job keeping up with the rapidly growing grass this season. We have begun the refurbishment oft the old garage building at the maintenance complex. It is an 18'x28' building that was supposedly built int the 1950'sa and is the last remaining original structure on the maintenance property. In the past it had been used as a storage areai for road signs, traffic paint, small equipment and for the tennis court furniture during the winter. It is being re-configured to house the chemical storage for the golf course, and continue to serve as a storage location for our signs and traffic paint. This will open up more storage for equipment in the golf maintenance building and allow an office area to be built onto that structure. Ihave spoken with the paving contractors and they should be on the Mountain the last week of September to patch up our rough road cut areas and to repave the town hall parking lot. The more extensive paving of areas on the mountain will occur int the spring as we feel the roads are in good enough condition to make it through the winter. We will touch up the yellow and white lines on the streets where needed before the end oft the fall season. The golf course continues to be very busy, and with that brings challenges to the maintenance oft the course. Our tee boxes are insufficient in size to accommodate the amount of play we are receiving. Al hard look at rebuilding several of the tee complexes needs to be considered. We have been able to take on smaller projects like these in house in years past, but I feel that a more extensive project is looming in our future. Iwill have a plan for everyone to look at after we close the course for the winter. So far, all oft thet tournaments we have hosted are providing many positive comments on the condition oft the course and it is bringing many players back that normally wouldn't play here. We have such a wonderful asset in this course, and hope in the coming years, we can make. some much needed changes to the tees and greens. Ifanyone has any questionsor comments, please don't hesitate to contact me. Respectfully submitted, Bill Daniels, Village Maintenance Director
