Dry weather has allowed us to keep the leaves out oft the drains and ditches. Keep in mind that our blowers will be ont the roads each day until the remainder of the leaves has fallen. Mowing has came to an end fort the season ont the roadsides due to the lack of rainfall. We are currently in the process ofi installing 6 streetlights in the golf course parking lot. The concrete will arrive today and we will be standing the lights up next week after the pedestals cure over the weekend. The next order of streetlights willl be placed in various locations throughout the Village. The crew has also been remodeling the old upper garage at the maintenance facility. This project has been completed with the only remaining item being toi install the garage door. We are waiting on Automatic Door company from Boone to complete this project. If the weather stays warm and dry after this brief cool spell, we will be applying a new yellow line to all of the streets before the winter. Salt and screenings are going to be ordered and delivered ini the next two  weeks for our winter: stockpile.  We hosted a very successful event on the golf course on September 19 as Superintendent members of the Western North Carolina Turfgrass Association came to our golf course for a golfing event. Lunch was provided by the Caddyshack for the players. Our staff had the course in excellent condition and we received sO many positive comments from those in attendance. appreciate the Village allowing me to host this event. Highlands Air Rescue also held their annual tournament here on the 29th. It was at full field event with 88 players in attendance. These events are such a positive advertising tool. There are: sO many oft these players that will return throughout the golfs season and bring their friends with them which creates a good cash flow for the course. I have included a estimate fora a budget amendment to complete the enlargement of several tees, and the regarding and adding of drainage to several oft them.
