The occupancyt tax collections fort the period December 2021t through November 2022 ($1,034,766) have shown a $83,927 or 8.83% increase in comparison to the same period of Banner Elk Fire Rescue: The Banner Elk Fire & Rescue Department has completed another busy year and tackled some very challenging issues in our fire district. Chief Tyler Burr will be at our January 17th Council meeting to give a department update and answer any questions anyone may Freedom Life Avery: Avery County is in the process of opening a Freedom Life Avery office. Freedom Life Avery is a program to help with the drug crisis here in the County by aiding in the transitional needs for Avery citizens who want to make a change in their life. Whether it's transitioning back into the community from incarceration or rebuilding a brand-new life, Freedom Life Avery will be there to help.
