The Board recommended to the Council, the appointment of Tristan Bowen, Sugar Mountain Resort representative, and the reappointment of Keely Sisco, to the Board. Mary Kate Ollis, TDA Coordinator, and Mark File, Marketing Consultant, will attend at tourism conference in Asheville on March 6th and 7th. Mark File submitted the attached February 2023 marketing The January 2023 collections of the occupancy tax showed a decrease of 8% ($159,525) in comparison to. January 2022 ($172,859). The occupancy tax collections for the period February 20221 through January 2023 ($1,015,544) have shown a $33,8740 or3.45%increase in comparison Planning and Zoning (P&Z) Board Meeting: The P&Z Board met on Thursday, February 23rd. The Board recommended to the Council, the reappointment of Zoe Schmidinger and Dick Casey to the Board for a 3-year term; March 2026. The Board also approved a change to the monthly meeting schedule from the 4th Thursday of the month to the 4th Wednesday of the month at 9 am. The Board reviewed the Zoning Ordinance Table, 154.072: Uses by Zoning District, and discussed adding wineries under the Manufacturing and Industrial section to the Commercial Business District (C-B) as a permissible use with a special use permit. The Board recommended forwarding to the Council for their consideration. The Board also discussed adding 'mixed-use" developments to be allowed in a Commercial Planned Unit Development. This would allow for ad development to have both commercial and residential development together.
