The Police Department scheduled additional officers from Tuesday, December 26th through Monday, January 1st, as well as the Public Works staff was on call as needed. There were no major incidents, and all of our officers and Bill Daniels did an excellent job with traffic control. ChiefTurbyfill is again to be commended fori the outstanding Property Tax Collections: Of the $1,410,225 total 2023 levy, $1,318,806 or 93.52% has been collected with a balance of $91,419 uncollected through January 11, 2024. A balance of $4,823 remains uncollected for the 2014-2022 taxy years. Taxes were due by Friday, January 5,2024 and have Board of Adjustment: The Board of Adjustment was scheduled to hold a hearing on Tuesday, November 28th at 10:001 to hear an appeal from Mr. Carl Taylor, property owner at 1144 Grouse Moor Drive. Mr. Taylor has appealed the action of the Village requiring the construction of a retaining wall on the property to protect the structural integrity of Grouse Moor Drive. The After being informed by the property owner that the contractor had agreed to let the property owner out ofthe contract and hire a new contractor and collaborate with an engineer in planning to construct retaining walls and the reconstruction of the driveway on the property, the Tourism Development Authority (TDA) Board Meeting: The TDA Board met on Wednesday, January 10, 2024. The Board discussed a proposal for aerial photography in the Village by a company in Johnson City. Following discussion, the Board agreed Todd Bush is a local business and has always done a great job with the Vilagesphotograpny needs. The Board discussed ways to promote celebrating fifty years of the golf course in the upcoming season. Mark File submitted The November 2023 collections of the occupancy tax showed a decrease of 2% in comparison to November 2022. Golf Course 50 Years (1974-2024): We will be celebrating fifty years of the golf course during the upcoming season. We are currently ini the early planning stages of events, special rates, etc. Residential Construction: We continue to see a significant increase ini the number of residential homes being built throughout the Village overt the past several years. We currently havet fourteen (13) single-family residential and 3 (12 units) multi-family residential permits in various stages of the construction process. Of these sixteen (16) permits, one (1) was issued in 2021, five (5) in that will take place throughout the 2024 season. 2022 and ten (10) in 2023.
