Mr. Kim told thel board that the amendment was to add additional regulations to Chapter 26.281 which determines guidelines for advisory committees. He said that the current ordinance was not specific enough as it pertained to the Planning Board. Mr. Kim said that the Planning Board wasi ini favor oft the regulations that would: include; appointments, terms, quorums and officers. Commissioner Griffin made ai motion tol leave public hearing and return to: regular session; Motion I was: made by Commissioner: Lucas that 2018 ZTA-03: isi inconsistent with comprehensive plans that havel been adopted by The Town of Spring Hope. He said that Officer Gwaltney investigated a vehicle crash that resultedi in al light pole being damaged. Chief Puckett said that there were two break-ins at commercial properties and asked the public to make sure that if they see suspicious activity they need tor make. law enforcement aware. Commissioner Cone commented that a resident in a different casel had reported suspicious activity which resulted ini the arrests of suspects whol had stolen a vehicle. Commissioner Cone said that it was Scott Williams who called and that he was ai resident of Spring Hope. Mr. Kim said that Duke Progress told him that work orders would bei issued the first week in February for the LED lights coming off oft the 64 ramp into town.. Mr. Kim said that he would be attending the manager's conference February 6th thru the gthi in Winston Salem. Pat Luce from Waste Industries told thel board that he was the government contracts manager. He said that he was there to ask for an increase in the price of recycling. He said that things were changingi in the recycling industry and that it was costing more. He said that the data that hel had sent was only for six months therefore the price wouldn't be. 17 cent more as the paper work stated it would be a.34 cents raise per unit. Mayor Gwaltney said that there were some accounts that had large recycling containers and others that had the small green bins. The Mayor askedi lifity was al raise for each gallon or per customer; Mr. Luce said: it was] per customer every month. Commissioner Cone asked why he was requesting a raise now when according to the contract any increases would be requested at the anniversary of the contract which was several months away. Commissioner Cone said he felt like it was the cost of doing business and that prices for this fiscal year were already set. Mr. Kim said that in the contract all increases are at the discretion of thel board; Mr. Luce said that they would also request a CPI increase in July. Commissioner Cone made a motion to table the discussion until the following month; Mr. Kim told the board that there was only one applicant for the ETJ position on1 the Board of Adjustment. He: said that the club had been formed back in 1937 and that there used tol be many members. He said that currently the club was down to 14 members. Mr. Brantley told the board that Reg Mullen had been the Commander since 1978 and that he wast there to honor) his friend. He: said that Mr. Mullen had wanted the club to replace the old flags and poles that werel hanging in the town.
