Consideration of approval of award of construction contract to SKC, Inc. = Utility Contractors in the amount of $221,585.00 to replace and upgrade the School Pump Station (WWTP) located near intersection of The replacement and upgrade of this wastewater pump station includes relocating the station out of the floodplain. Council has previously approved the purchase of property required to accommodate the new construction. While the actual construction price is under budget, total project cost (my estimate) is currently estimated at $299,700 not including 10% contingency as shown in memo. The current 2015/16 FY Budget contains appropriation of $237,000 for this project. There are sufficient funds in Enterprise Budget to cover the difference in budget and actual costs. The main unexpected cost was land acquisition at $35,000 which as presented to Council earlier this year has actually saved the City money on this project in the final analysis. SKC, Inc. is a contractor who the City is very familiar with and who has successfully completed Presentation of proposed FY 2016/2017 Rockingham City Budget. Proposed budget has been delivered to Council with the May meeting packet. Please look at your calendars to consider dates for Annual Budget Retreat.
