Because of new laws passed in July of 2015 we are required to inform County officials of and get approval for the event. This ist the ninth annual running of this event that begins in at the Pink Beds near Brevard, NC and ends at the Nantahala Outdoor Center near Bryson City, NC. The event enters Macon County as runners top the Mountain after running up Tilley Creek Rd from Cullowhee the road name changes to Elljay. From there we run to Hwy 64 and turn right after crossing the Highway. We run.7 miles on Hwy 64 and turn left onto Fulton Dr then turn left on Clarks Chapel. We continue up Clarks Chapel until it becomes Hickory Knoll Rd then run to Tessentee Rd to turn right and a little over a mile tocross Hwy 441. Here we turn right and run point 4 miles to Shope Rd. Then left on Coweeta Church Rd and Right on Coweeta Lab Rd to the Coweeta Laboratory Labs Rd. From Coweeta Labs we run up the Shope Fork Rd to a gate and over some Forest Service property that comes out on North Jones Creek Rd. Then the runners continue toA Allison Watts, Harrison Gap, the Old Murphy Rd, cross why 64 at around 2 int the morning (Otraffic) go past the West Macon Fire Dept and turn Left on Setzer Rd, Then Right on Crawford Rd and another Left on' Wayah Rd, then Right on Forest Service 711 Rd. At the end of the 711 Rd turn left on Cold Springs Rd which becomes Long Branch Rd, then right on Wayah Rd, right on Winding Stairs Rdt to Briartown Church Rd. Then left Otter Creek Rd which becomes Tellico Rd. Tellico to Lower Burning town Rd. then a left on Saldeer Mountain Rd, then left on Rose Creek Rd. From here we cross the Old McCoy Bridge and turn right on Hwy 28. The course then turns left on Carl Sorrels Rd for a short distance and merges back onto Hwy 28 for 7 miles left on West Mills Rd, right on Leatherman Gap Rd, continue to Cowee Creek Rd and turn left into the Cowee Community Center. From the Cowee Community Center we run Hwy 28 towards Franklin and turn right on Bennett Rd, then right again on lotla which becomes Bumingtown.
