Background: On April 1, 2022, Goshen Medical Center, Inc. submitted a voluntary, contiguous annexation petition for approximately 51.96 acres located at 801 US Hwy 74 Business East. The subject property is located immediately adjacent to the existing city limit boundary. The property owner plans to develop a medical office on the property and requested access to City services, specifically sewer service. Staff Comments: reference. 1. A copy of the annexation petition and map illustrating the location of the subject property are included in the agenda packet. A zoning map and an aerial map are also included for the Board's 2. The subject property complies with the statutory requirements set forth in NCGS 160A-31 for 3. As illustrated on the map included in the agenda packet, a portion oft the subject property is located in Hamlet's ETJ. City staff recommends this portion of the property be zoned Highway Business (B- 4. If the annexation is approved, an 8-inch gravity sewer line must be extended along US Hwy Business East to provide service to the property. Crump City Manager ROCKINGHAM A CITY LOOKING FORWARD To: From: Date: Subject: Monty Crump, City Manager Dave Davis; Recreation Director May 2, 2022 Activity Report The following is an up-date on various activities involving our Recreation Department: Youth Baseball/Softball - We have just over 300 children participating in these two programs for this coming season. The age range is 4-12 and we have six total leagues for boys and girls. Summer Program - Registration for our summer programs of Day Camp and Swimming Lessons began Monday, May 2nd. Day Camp will be in session Monday, June 13th through Friday, August 12th. The cost is $70.00 per week. Swimming Lessons are divided into three sessions each lasting two weeks. The first session begins Monday, June 13th. The cost is $50.00. Lifeguard Training - Red Cross Lifeguard, First Aid, and CPR will conducted at Browder Park May 23rd - May 31t. Browder Park Pool - Depending on the weather and availability of lifeguards we plan to open the first of next month. Also, this will be the forty-forth year of operation for our swimming pool.
