CITY OF NORTHWEST REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING TUESDAY, OCTOBER 27, 2020 7:00 P.M. ASSEMBLY The Northwest City Council held their regular meeting on Tuesday, October 27,2020 a at Present were: James Knox, Mayor; Councilmen: Charles Carroll, Michael Troy, Aaron 7:00 PM, at Northwest City Hall, 4889 Vernon Road. Perkins, Haywood Miller and Councilwoman Sheila Grady Also present was: Donna Strickland, City Clerk Mayor Knox called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. Councilman Haywood Miller gave the invocation. CALL TO ORDER & INVOCATION DISCUSSION & ACTION. ITEMS 1. UPDATE- - AUDIT Donna Strickland, City Clerk, stated that the City ofl Northwest's audit has begun. Mrs. Strickland also stated that last week we began providing information to the auditors through a program called sharefile. Mrs. Strickland stated that two auditors were here on site and they were Matt McLean and Tara Spivey. She also stated that $217,630 of that is for payroll obligations and once the money has been received there will be no need for al Fund Balance appropriation. The remaining money isf for a commercial generator, heavy-duty pick-up truck and trailer to transport the mini - excavator to locations within the City. Donna Strickland, City Clerk stated that the City has been granted the opportunity to amend its original application. Mrs. Strickland explained that the amendment would provide funding to solicit bids from qualified contractors to clean out ditches and culverts, allowing water to run off roads, enabling the water to run off the streets into the ditches or swells. Councilman Aaron Perkins stated that he was working with the City Clerk, to send out a bid package sO we can move forward on procuring a contractor to do the work on our roads and drainage problems. Councilman Michael Troy stated that he will begin spraying the roads for weeds. Councilman Troy stated that he would be using his personal 4-wheeler. It was brought to Council that the Police Department has been cracking down on 4-wheelers being driven on City Roads.. Councilman Michael Troy streets.
