INTRODUCTION OF DRAFT ARTICLES Rick reviewed the rules of procedure and articles one through six, highlighting that Article Four and The Rules of] Procedure had changes made to them. Rick clarified that the term "council" was replaced with "board of aldermen" ini the rules of procedure. Additionally, under Article Four, the planning board's size was reduced from seven to five members. Article Four was updated with a watermarked date to track any modifications made. Rick requested the planning board examine the articles for discussion at the February meeting. He also said that if everything goes according to the intended schedule, the governing board will take action in October. Rick clarified that articles four, five, and six are predominantly regulated by state laws, which restricts the extent to which they can be modified. Ricke emphasized that these articles serve to safeguard Vice-chair Foxx asked when terms would be decided. Rick explained the structure oft the terms, while Bill confirmed that they were on the upcoming agenda. Vice-chair Foxx asked about alternates. Rick recommended that the same individuals serve on both the board of adjustment and the planning board.
