Consider. Allowing Councilmembers and Board Members to Participate Remotely MOTION: Mayor Pro' Tem Vandenberg moved to allow Councilmembers toj participate remotely. Discussion of Village's Official Stance Regarding Parking on Streets for' Trail Access Rohit Ammanamanchi, Planning & Zoning Administrator, asked Council and Board members about how to advise people on where toj park for access to the Village's trails. Council and Board members discussed this item in depth and agreed to recommend street parking and certain sites for additional parking, including the new Village Hall, schools, Publix, etc. TIME: STAMP: 39:40 5. Discussion of' Trash Pickup Events and Coordination with NCDOT Spring Litter Sweep Mr. Ammanamanchi informed the boards that residents have requested tol have ar neighborhood cleanup day and that NCDOT willl have their first litter clean up events on Saturday, April 17 and Saturday, April 24. Discussion of] Naming Pocket Park Council and thel PR& Board discussed options for naming the Marvin Gardens Pocket Park, including letting school students come up with names/emblems, naming the park after an: influential community member. Both boards agreed to allow elementary school students to submit drawings fora a sign/emblem, while the Council would later choose ai name. TIME: STAMP 1:04:05 7. Discussion of Supporting the Union County Education Foundation Grow Fund Bobl Nunnenkamp explained that the original goal ofMARSH was to engage and educate the community about wildlife and wildlife habitats. He stated that one way to achieve this goal ist to support thel Union County Education Foundation Grow Fund, which seeks to make a difference ini the education of] local students. Discussion of' Trails Designated as Wildlife Habitats Bob] Nunnenkamp explained that the Tullamore and) Preserve walking trails have been designated as certified wildlife habitats by thel National Wildlife Federation. The signage has been installed and with the goal to help promote future community Vice-Chair Culp explained thati in 20201 MARSH accrued 27 additional points to maintain their National Wildlife Federation certification. Currently, MARSH has accrued at total of1 171 points in its territory encompassing the entire 28173 ZIP code. MARSH is also striving to expand its working membership beyond the current five workers. She also recapped recent and upcoming MARSH virtual speaker series events. 10. Discussion of2022 Marvin Day Celebration TIME: STAMP 1:36:05 Councilman Lein emphasized the need tol hold a celebration tol bolster the sense of community for Marvin starting in 2022.
