Review Minutes for Approval Mayor Powers opened the floor for a motion to approve the February 14, 2023 Regular Meeting Minutes or amend if necessary. Finance Report - Beth Johnson Finance Director Johnson gave an update on the financial status of this fiscal year's budget. She will continue to monitor the budget items for this fiscal year. After discussion a motion was made by Alderman Teresa McCoy to approve the CIP, Continuous Improvement Plan, for the Creeper Trail Park. Motion carried with a 4-0 favor. A motion was made by Alderman Tom Richardson for the PartF grant application. Motion carried A discussion followed on mounting four additional cameras in the town. We talked to the Fire Department and obtained their permission to install these cameras on their building. A motion was made by Alderman Blevins to buy and install these four additional cameras. Motion caried A discussion on enlarging the dance floor in the JG O Blevins meadow in preparation for the Ola Belle Reed Festival in August. We would like tol have a quote ready for the next board meeting. Mayor Powers reported that the AIA Grants have been approved for the Wastewater Treatment Plant and the Water System for the town. We do: not need a resolution or a motion at this time. The N.C. Year of the Trail is scheduled for the first weekend of August in Ashe County. West Jefferson is having several events during this time. Lansing needs to decide what we want to do to celebrate this event. It was suggested that we have a concert on Saturday, August 5th in the Creeper Trail Park and sell refreshments. A motion was made have a band and a sound person in the park to celebrate the N.C.
