Johnson Mack Powers, Mayor Sandra Roten, Town Clerk BOARD OF ALDERMAN Regular Meeting Minutes September 14, 2021 The Lansing Board of Alderman met at Town Hall for their regular monthly meeting on Those present by roll call were: Mayor Mack Powers, Aldermen Jim Blevins, Matt Cordell, and Also attending were: Town Clerk Sandy Roten and Maintenance Supervisor Larry Blevins. Beth Johnson, Finance Officer, attended by Zoom. 1.0 Call to Order and Welcome Mayor Powers called the meeting to order at 6:10 p.m. and welcomed everyone in attendance. 2.0 Approval of August 10, 2021 Agenda Amotion was made by Alderman Blevins to approve the agenda as presented. Motion carried with a 3-0 favor. 3.0 Review Minutes for Approval Mayor Powers opened the floor for a motion to approve the August 2021 Regular Meeting Minutes or amend if necessary. A motion was made by Alderman Cordell to accept the minutes as presented. Motion carried with a 3-0 favor. 4.0 Finance Report - Beth Johnson said a more detailed report would be presented in October. 5.0 LPCCA-None 6.0 G.L.A.D.-None 7.0 LVFD-None 8.0 Public Comments - None 9.0 Other Business The Fire District Ordinance was reviewed. A motion was made by Alderman Cordell to approve the ordinance as presented. Motion carried with a 3-01 favor. AF Play World representative met with the committee to review the park area to tour the area where it will be located. Mayor Powers will contact PartF for their Approval of the DOT offer of $5,325.00 for an additional right of way for the Teaberry Bridge replacement project was discussed. A move was made to approve the offer was made by Alderman Blevins. Motion carried with a 3-0 Itwas discussed long term rentals and short-term rentals being classified as a residential or commercial water customer with the town. Long term rentals will be classified as residential. Anything less than six (6) month rentals will be classified as a commercial property. A motion was made by Alderman Cordell to accept the classifications on residential and commercial properties. Motion An meeting with Tim Church to discuss the status of the sewer system was held with Maintenance Supervisor Larry Blevins and Mayor Powers. Items discussed including a clarifier for the sewer plant and possibly to secure more land and On November 20 and 21, a fishing tournament hosted by Casting Carolinas will use the Red Barn as their home base. The mission statement is: "Casting Carolinas aims to enhance the quality of life for women surviving all types of cancer through a unique program that combines cancer education and peer support with the therapeutic sport of fly fishing." They are expecting between 70- 100 attendees consisting of 35-40 teams.
