An increase of 1.7 cents tot the property tax rate is included ini the proposed budget, which is needed as a pass-thru of the Pinecroft Projects of approximately $1.3 million arei included int the 2020-21 General Fund fiscal year budget. These are all included on the CIP, as well as about $2.6r millioni in sidewalk projects that are set up as capital project funds, sO do not impact the operating budget. Water: and sewer projects include approximately $2 million for Eastside Wastewater Treatment Plant and Riverdale Pump This budget calls for Fund balance to be used ina amounts of approximately $1.2 million int the General Fund and $1.9 million in the The proposed 2020-21 budget (total of all funds & excludingi inter-fund transfers) shows a 31% increase from the 2019-20 amended budget. The General Fund budget increased 9%, inp part due to $275,000 of streetr resurfacing planned in 2020-21; the water & Sedgefield Fire District 1.72t tax rate increase. The Town will absorb the 02 cent difference. Water rates will remain unchanged, and sewer rates will decrease. approximately 14%. Station improvements, as well as approximately $1.7 millioni in Town water and sewer improvements. Water & Sewer Fund to fund capital items. sewer budget increased 64% due to almost $4 million in capital improvements for water and sewer. Jamestown, North Carolina 27282 Tel:(336)454-1138 e Fax: (336)8 886-3504 7 TYE CSelled 1752 OAMESTOWN NORTH CAROLINA AR RESOLUTION ADOPTING A CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM FOR THE TOWN OF WHEREAS, capital planning and budgeting is central to delivery of essential services, economic development, transportation, communication, and management of quality of life; and WHEREAS, much of what is accomplished by a local government depends on a sound long-term WHEREAS, some capital projects and items require the issuance oft the debt that results in annual operating debt service repayment, as well as additional annual operating costs; and WHEREAS, these costs should be considered when determining which capital projects and NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Town Council of the Town of Jamestown that the Capital Improvement Program for the fiscal years 2020/2021 through 2024/2025 is hereby BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that adoption of this Capital Improvement Program does not constitute approval of the projects listed therein. Each project will be evaluated individually and approval or disapproval given based on the merits oft the project. The Town Council directs Town staff to use the adopted document as a guide for proceeding with the implementation of JAMESTOWN FOR FISCAL YEARS 2020/2021 TO 2024/2025 investment ini facilities, infrastructure, and equipment; and items the Town of Jamestown will pursue; adopted; projects detail in fiscal years 2020/2021.
