Recreation Committee October 5, 2022 McCreary Family Recreation Center Members Present:  Janet Winkler, Mayor Larry Chapman, Commissioner Jim Engelman, Commissioner Jeff Link, Commissioner Jonathan Greer, Town Manager Chuck Raby, Parks & Recreation Director Commissioner Chapman called the meeting to order.  Director Raby discussed the 2023 calendar of events scheduled for the 50th anniversary. Each member Commissioner Engelman asked if we could do something bigger at a couple of events/games if we had sponsors, such as live band or food. He also asked the actual date of the anniversary. Town Manager  was given a calendar to followa along.  said he would try to find a date.  Mayor Winkler asked if we had previously discussed fireworks. Commissioner Engelman said we did and that's why he asked for an anniversary date, to potentially have that as at fireworks event. Director Raby said we may incorporate fireworks into the outdoor movie event. Commissioner Engelman said we could try to find sponsors for fireworks and maybe live music and food trucks for that event. He also Commissioner Chapman asked if we had at t-shirt price yet. Director Raby said not yet since the logo  mentioned that ifa church sponsors the movie, the royalties are at al lower rate.  isn'tfinished.  The group decided to meet as needed next year to provide more detailed planning before major events. Director Raby said the Optimist Park grand opening will likely bei in April. This will be a Saturday event will all spring teams participating. We will also invite all donors. He also mentioned we should have Commissioner Link made a motion to adjourn, seconded by Commissioner Engelman. Meeting  concrete poured next week.  adjourned with not votes or action taken.
