Town of Hertford Town Budget Session Minutes Monday, March 8, 2021 6:001 PM Town ofE Hertford Community Center The Town of Hertford's Town Council held the Budget Session on Monday, March 8, 2021. Mayor Earnell Brown called the meeting to order at 6:00 pm. COUNCIL MEMBERS PRESENT Jackson, and Councilman Jerry Mimlitsch. Mayor Earnell Brown, Mayor Pro Tem Ashley Hodges, Councilman Frank Norman, Councilman STAFF PRESENT Town Manager Pamela Hurdle, Finance Director Brian Lewis, Interim Public Works Harry Sanchez, Police Chief Dennis Brown, Officer Polumbo, Officer Knigge, and Sharion Sumrall. OTHERS PRESENT Anderson, and Connie Brothers. Muriel Harmon, Barry Ford, Gracie Felton, Susan Cyr, Matt Cyr, Gilbert Vaughan, Frank Jaklic, Sandra The invocation was offered by Rev. Gilbert Vaughn of Immanuel Pentecostal Church. Pledge of Allegiance was cited. PRESENTATION OF DEPARTMENTS FINANCE/UTILITILITIES/ADMIN DEPARTMENT Director Lewis presented that two (2) positions are requested to be added to the staff. Those positions are Int the absence of Chief Woodard, Manager Hurdle presented the fire department budget proposal. Manager Hurdle stated the fire department does not have anything extra requested ini the budget. The fire department will strategize this budget year to replace a fire truck that has reached the 20-year mark. Manager Hurdle stated it is recommended that the fire engine be replaced at the 20-year mark. The fire Chief Brown requested the police department not be presented at this meeting. Chief Brown felt that it will not be fair to present a budget that can be contrasted with the Sheriff's department. A motion was made by Council Jackson that Police Chiefand it was seconded by Councilman Norman. DMV/Utility Clerk and al Utility tech and Mr. Lewis explained the need. FIREDEPARTMENT department will focus on ways to fund a new fire station and location. POLICE DEPARTMENT The vote was: Councilman Mimlitsch Yay Councilman Norman Councilman Jackson Pro Tem Hodges Mayor Brown The vote was 5-0 competition. Chief Brown stated he will have the budget to the Manager on Wednesday. ADJOURNMENT Because the Governing Body has not met to discuss their budget, a meeting has been scheduled for March With no other discussion, Councilman Norman made the motion to adjourn the meeting and it was seconded by Mayor Pro l'em Hodges.
