Approval of Agenda: Hope Page moved to accept the agenda, seconded by Karen Saracen. No Morrison - Director of Parks and Recreation opposition. Motion Carried. III. Old Business/Ongoing Projects: a. Minutes: Hope Page moved to accept the February 14, 2024, minutes, seconded by Karen b. Cemetery Project: will get advisement from the town. Continue to hold open. Reprint of "Hope Mills Heritage: A Pictorial and sentimental history ofa a NC Mill Town": will need a manuscript copy for reprint, continue to hold open. d. History District Inventory: Teresa Davis stated that there is an active working document ont the google drive, and it is updated regularly/as needed. a. Volunteers for Cotton Tail Trail March 23, 2024, at 9am: Karen, Hope and Roy will be Storyboards for Heritage Park: the park will have 10 storyboards, 5 on each side to show the history of the area, as well as a storm water feature and one kiosk. Sharon and Teresa will use the book to prepare the pictures and information for the storyboards. More Question: Terasa Davis asked if there were plans for an interactive type of access on the story boards? Donation for Plane Pull- - Hope Mills Police Department: . Discussion: Where would the money for the fundraiser go towards? Funds raised would go towards the Special Olympics. Those with questions on the HPC FB page, the town link should be provided to redirect them to conduct their own iv. How will residents off Hillcrest be affected? The residents will not be affected. Will people be allowed to park on the cul-de-sac to enter the park? No those parking will be trespassing if they are parking ini the cul-de-sac area. Will there be any barrier between that street and the park? No. a. Additional information: nothing was mentioned or brought up during the town meetings when the project was addressed. The police department is aware of no trespassing. 2. Are there plans to tap into an Artesian well to allow water flow to the flume? There will be a natural will they be incorporated? The turbine and tributary are not a part of the project and they will remain intact and if so, how water source feature and aquatic plants. Will the turbine and tributary remain intact. 3. How will you keep the park from heavy rain fall and/or hurricane storms? Rain will flooding during go down the drain the tube will empty into the creek. 4. How will the rain fill the flume and then drain out? No, the flume will be fine. Will it be slanted somehow to drain the water? No. a. Additional information: the flume, turbine and tributary will not be affected by this. All the project information can be found on the town's website. 5. Are you planning to preserve the flume? Yes. How will the property around the park that belongs to private citizens be protected from trespassing? The park will not be fenced in, the town plans to have cameras and lighting around 10. Will there be a bridge over the creek connecting the park to the TCO Chapel and bathrooms? No, 11. Will the park be gated and secured at night from vandalism? Main access will have a gate at night. a. Additional information: the site may have homeless people. Understanding this concern, homeless people can bei in the park as iti is a public park.
