October: 14, 2019  MINI RETREAT  TOWN OF DAVIDSON BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS  The Town of Davidson Board of Commissioners held ar mini retreat on Monday, October 14, 2019 in the Town Hall Board Room. Present were Mayor Rusty Knox and Commissioners Jane Campbell, Jim Fuller, Matthew Fort, Autumn Rierson Michael and David Sitton. Town Manager. Jamie. Justice, Assistant Town Manager Karen Whichard, Town Attorney Cindy Reid, and Town Clerk Betsy! Shores were also present.  I.  Introduction- - Mayor Knox  Mayor Knox called the meeting to order at 6:05 p.m. andi introduced Roger Waldon with Planning Context- Presentation by Roger S. Waldon, FAICP, Clarion Associates Roger provided an overview of general approaches to planning and growth management, legislative context for planning, and Davidson'sexisting planning  Clarion Associates and the facilitator for the meeting. Town Board Discussion- Facilitated by Roger Waldon  Roger and the board discussed what they value about Davidson today, and concerns Roger shared how a Comprehensive Plan fits into the overall planning framework. The board discussed areas to work on including regionalism, targeted conditional process, action/execution, links between concepts, vision, and implementation, and Roger and the board discussed four (4) different key areas and listed what to keep what toi improve/enhance regarding downtown, the rural area, sense of place, and Roger will provide ai follow-up report from the retreat discussion and the board will review a draft version of the comprehensive plan at a future meeting.  about growth and growth management.  intentional growth.  veriymdlsoyatfodaly,  1    IV.
