ANNOUNCEMENTS Mayor Knox acknowledged the tragic and sudden loss of Suzanne Younts, who was fatally struck bya a vehicle on Main Street on. June 17, 2021. A moment of silence was held to honor Suzanne Younts and we The Davidson Board of Commissioners discussed pedestrian safety and decided to move forward with thei formation of al Pedestrian Safety Task Force. The task force will be comprised of members of the standing mobility subcommittee as well as other Davidson residents who wish to serve. Communications Director Amanda Preston announced the Concerts at the Circles Concert Series continues Saturday, June 26 at 4:00 p.m. with a concert from Crucial Flya, and returns the following week on July 3 with Chunky Daddy for another great performance. NEW BUSINESS (a) Housing & Equity Director Eugene Bradley provided an update on the progress ofe establishing Minority, Women, Small Business Enterprise (MWSBE) Goals fort the Town of Davidson. The presentation included an overview of MWSBE's, proposed goals for the town, factors to consider, and next steps. The board provided feedback and: staff will continue to work on MWSBE goals. (b) Finance Director Piet Swart presented a Special Revenue Grant Project ordinance to establish at fund for the grant revenue from the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021. The use of the funds will be approved by the board prior to expenditure. The Town of Davidson is projected to receive $3.82 million inf funds allocated. Commissioner Fort made a motion accept funds allocated to Davidson in the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021, authorized the Town Manager to approve any necessary agreements, and approved Ordinance 2021-03 Special Revenue Grant Project Ordinance for the American Rescue Plan Act Fund as presented.
