BACKGROUND: This includes all equipment and vehicles planned for in the 2020/2021 budget year for police and water sewer departments. There are four vehicles for police made up of two administrative vehicles, one animal control truck, and one patrol vehicle. The total cost for these vehicles is $149,200. The vehicles and equipment for the Water/Sewer department are comprised of 4 trucks including two-2 wheel drive trucks and two-four wheel drive trucks, at four wheel drive utility tractor with loader, buckets, blades and ar rotary cutter, and al Bobcat track loader with forestry kit and disc mulcher. The total cost oft this purchase is $244,500. BUDGET IMPACT: Repayment funding is included in the 2021/2022 budget with first debt payments beginning in the 2022 year. This prepayment will allow the city to save some interest payments and open funding next year by paying off these loans this year. BACKGROUND: The City has loans that total $80,373.16 that are scheduled to be paid in full over the next two years. This amount is made up of three loans, one for equipment from 2015 and one from 2016 both with the USDA. The third loan was from First Citizens Bank (FCB) for the purchase of a Limb Truck in 2016. The amount of interest that will be saved is approximately $7,560. The interest rate on these three loans varies from 2.12% by FCB to 3.125% and 3.375% by thel USDA. BUDGET IMPACT: We will pay these loans using fund balance in our current budget. This total amount of $80,373.16 payoff will reduce the budgeted amount to be spent in the 2021-2022 budget by $75,730 and reduce the payoff in the 2022-2023 budget by $25,729.
