ANDI INVOCATION ITEMS FORI DISCUSSION Draft Unified Development Ordinance (UDO) Update Planning Director. Adler introduced Ben Cotton, AICP, Senior Planner for Stewart, Inc. Cotton presented the draft UDO which will combine all the elements of the Zoning Ordinance, Subdivision Ordinance, and Flood Damage Prevention Ordinance into one document. The UDO eliminatesi inconsistencies and redundancies, is user friendly and presents the development processes ina a much clearer manner, making itr much easier for developers looking att the City ofI Dunn. Cityl Manager Neuschafer: suggested Council review the draft UDO Use Table and let George or him know ift they have any concerns. Staffi is still reviewing the document and once thati isf finished, the draft UDO willl bej presented tot thej public to allow time for review and feedback prior to Cotton madet the presentation for the draft Land Use Plan Update. He shared that having a current Land Use Plani isar requirement oft the North Carolina General Statutes. He shared that these plans look ten tot twenty years int the future and make projections based on past trends and other data and the city's plan will also incorporate the Imagine Dunn Strategic Vision Plan. A Land Use Plan sets development guidance for City staff, Council and the Planning Board. Development oft the update included focus groups in January and then a public workshop on April7.1 The draft map was presented andi much discussion followed included comments and recommended changes. The goal is to) have the Land Use Plan adopted in mid-summer, with mid-July being the deadline: from the State.
