TOWN OF EAST SPENCER Monday, July 9, 2018 6:30 P.M. BOARD CHAMBERS  REGULAR MEETING OF THE BOARD OF ALDERMEN  The Regular Meeting of the Board of Aldermen was held in the Aldermanic Chambers ofi the Municipal Building located on 105 South Long Street in East Spencer, NC. The meeting  was called to order by Mayor Mallett at 6:30 P.M.  Members Present: High, Deloris, Gibson, Otis Hillian, Tony Holmes, Dwayne Cowan, Curtis Noble, John  Members Absent:  Alderwoman Alderman Alderman Mayor Pro Tem Alderman Alderman  I.  Call the Meeting to order at 6:30 by Mayor Mallett.  I.  Opening Prayer by Alderwoman High.  II. Pledge of Allegiance to the flag  IV. Approval of the Agenda  A motion was made to approve the agenda by Alderwoman High; seconded  by Alderman Cowan. Motion passes unanimously.  V.  Approval of the Monthly Minutes  Regular Meeting Work Session  Monday, June 4, 2018 Tuesday, June 19, 2018  A motion was made to approve the monthly minutes by Alderman Gibson; seconded by Alderwoman High. Motion Passes unanimously.    VI. Departmental Reports A. Special Projects Financial Report Police Dept Report D. Fire Dept Report Planning/Code Enforcement Report F. Admin. Review of streets for bidding for repaving  Motion was made to add Hunt Street to Cauble for the bidding for paving.  VIII. Grant Recipient Report (Healthy Community Grant)  Tatia Seward gave a summary about the healthy community.  IX. Call for Public Hearing for Amendment of Zoning Ordinance  Motion to set public hearing for August 6, 2018 Regular Meeting by Alderman Gibson; seconded by Alderman Cowan. The motion passes unanimously.  X.  Upcoming Event September 8 Community Event Public Comment  Travis Carter made a comment concerning how upset he was with the  increase in water rates 2%.  XI. Executive Session  Legal Matters - Motion passes to enter into an executive session by Alderwoman High; seconded by Alderman Gibson. Motion passes  unanimously.  Motion passes to close the executive session by Alderman Gibson; seconded Action taken by Eddie Carrick, CPA stating there is no need forai forensic  by Alderwoman High.  audit.    XII.
