TOWN OF COATS Board of Commissioners September 13, 2012 7:00j p.m. OFFICIAL MINUTES LA ABSTRACT: A regular meeting oft the Board of Commissioners was held on September 13, 2012 in the Board of Commissioners' Meeting Room at Coats Town Hall. II. ROLL CALL: Mayor Walter Weeks, Mayor Pro-Tem Dr. Linda Robinson, Commissioner Jerry Beasley, Commissioner Don Pleasant, Commissioner. JC C. Allen and Commissioner Allen Mosby were in attendance. Attorney Alton Bain was present. II. CALLTO ORDER: A quorum being present, Mayor Weeks called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. Commissioner Don Pleasant delivered the invocation and Mayor Weeks lead those in attendance in the Pledge of Allegiance. NOES (0) V.MANAGER & COMMITTEE REPORTS: Department Updates: Town Manager - Kenny Cole stated that C.T. Clayton has submitted plans to USDA. The Building Inspectors have approved the plans. Function at Smith's Farms on' Thursday September 20th at 7pm. Pat Godwin will be giving details. Kenny informed the Board that they had been given copies ofthe monthly Public Works report and Library Stats. Public Works - Gary Denton informed the Board that week after next the flushing for the Police Department - Chief. Jeremy Hall reported the monthly stats (reference #1). Chief Hall updated the Board of escorting Rolling Thunder through Town being a success. Library - Rebecca DallaMura informed the Board of the future activity with the Police Department for identification cards and registration for the Library. Date ofevent not set. Recreation- - Mike Collins updated the Board concerning the soccer season. Mr. Collins stated that Coats has more teams than any other recreation department around us except for Dunn. Mr. Collins shared plans for future activities such as Baby Sitting Programs, CPR and First Aid Training, Wellness Group and Nature Haunted Trail for next year. fire rating testing will begin. VI. Activities will begin with ai turkey shoot on Thursday night and other activities beginning at noon on Friday October 12, 2012. Ms. Godwin also informed the Board of a special night honoring the Fire Department, Rescue Squad and Police Officers Police ChiefJ Jeremy Hall presented the Board with the proposed street closing during the in memory of9/11 and requested the Board to come and participate.
