TOWN OF COATS Board of Commissioners April 17,2013 5:00 pm OFFICIAL MINUTES  LA ABSTRACT:  A special called meeting of the Board of Commissioners was. held on April 17, 2013 in the Board of Commissioners' Meeting Room located at 25 E. Main Street.  II. ROLLCALL:  Mayor Walter Weeks, Commissioner Don Pleasant, Commissioner Allen Mosby and  CommissionerJC. Allen were in attendance.  II. CALLTO ORDER:  A quorum being present, Mayor Weeks called the meeting to order at 5:00 pm. Mayor Weeks delivered the invocation and led those in attendance in the Pledge of  Allegiance.  IV. CLOSED SESSION:  RESOLVED, to go into closed session pursuant to N.C.G.S. 143.318 11A1 (3)(6). MOTION BY: COMMISSIONER DON PLEASANT: SECOND BY  COMMISSIONER ALLEN MOSBY.  APPROVED, AYES OACOMMISSIONERS ALLEN, MOSBY, AND PLEASANT  NOES (0)  Mayor Pro-Tem Dr. Linda Robinson came in during closed session  Returned to open session at 5:48 pm    V: RESIGNATION OF TOWN CLERK:  RESOLVED, to accept with regrets the resignation ofTown Clerk/Finance Officer,  Karen Wooten.  MOTION BY: MAYOR PRO-TEM DR. LINDA ROBINSON: SECOND BY APPROVED, AYES (4),MAYOR PRO-TEM DR. LINDA ROBINSON, COMMISSIONERS ALLEN,MOSBY, AND PLEASANT  COMMISSIONER ALLEN MOSBY.  NOES (0)  Mayor Weeks sincerely thanked the Town Clerk for what she had accomplished and the  professionalism that she has brought to the Town Hall.  RESOLVED, to appoint Deputy Clerk as interim Town Clerk/Finance Officer with an  10% pay increase beginning with April 22, 2013 payroll.  MOTION BY: MAYOR PRO-TEM DR.
