Alton Bain - update on County Board of Elections Hearing Attorney Alton Bain updated the Board concerning the hearing at the Superior Court on. January1 16, 2018. Harnett County Board of Elections has certified the results of the elections. Commissioner. John Raynor questioned if anyone that possibly be affected by this hearing need to be at the hearing. 3 Attorney Al Bain: stated that no one is a party to the hearing and there is no need to be present, but iti is ap public hearing for anyone to attend. VI. NEW BUSINESS: A. Town Clerk Oath Mayor Coats administered the Oath of Office to Karen' Wooten, Town Clerk. (Reference #4) B. Town Manager Oath Mayor Coats administered the Oath of Office to Nicholas Holcomb, Town Manager. (Reference #5) Open Commissioner Seat Mayor Coats asked for nomination for the vacant Commissioner seat. Mayor Pro-Tem nominated Mr. Robert (Bob) Hedrick for the vacant Commissioner seat and: stated that Mr. Hedrick had served as a Commissioner several years ago and the he felt he would be a good filli for the position. Chamber banquet on February 62 at 6:30 5. Public Works Building bid opening on February 6a at2 2 pm 2. Mexican restaurant opening tomorrow with Grand Opening on January 18. Chief. Jeremy Hall read the Police Department stats for December 14 - January11, 2018 (Reference #6) Public Works Director Rodney Pleasant read December 2017 Public Works report. (Reference #7) Library Director Teresa Brown read the activity report for the month of December. (Reference #8) VIII. PUBLIC FORUM: 4 Mayor Coats opened Public Forum. Sonny, al local business owner, spoke to the Board requested for on premises beer and wine sales. He stated the importance for restaurant such as the Mexican Restaurant to have beer and wine are Coats Chamber Director Pat Godwin spoke to the Board complimenting the Board, Police Department, Public Works department and Interim Town Manager for all their support for the Christmas Parade and the Christmas on Main. Mrs. Godwin shared that this event was a great success. important and asked for support from the Board for this matter. Mayor Coats closed Public Forum. IX.SPECIAL RECOGNITION: Mayor Coats presented Mayor Weeks with a clock and thanked Mr. Weeks for the years of service to the Town of Coats as Mayor and for the years, he served as Commissioner. X.
