NEW BUSINESS: A. Proclamation on Importance of Girl Scouts Mayor Coats read al Proclamation in support of Girl Scout Movement and Girl Scouts. The Proclamation declared the second week of March to be Girl Scout' Week in Coats, N.C. Budget Amendment - Water Fund #1 Nick Holcomb Town Manager presented. a Water Fund Budget Amendment to increase water meters and tap materials by Eight Thousand Dollars ($8,000). Mr. Holcomb informed the Board that the amendment was needed due to the larger volume of new water taps. (Reference #2) RESOLVED, to approve Water Fund Amendment #1 as presented. Preston Douglas & Associates, LLP for the Fiscal Year of 2020-2021. The Board was informed that this is thei fifth year providing auditing services for the Town RESOLVED, to approve Audit Contract with S. Preston Douglas & Associates, LLP for one more year. (Reference #3) RAYNOR NOES (0) D. Cemetery Plots Nick Holcomb Town Manager presented two Cemetery plots purchased by Jimmy and Diane Allen for plots 465-C and 466-C. Department Head Updates Chief Jeremy Hall presented stats for the month of February. Chief Hall stated that other staff were being radar certified and staff were updating their In-Service training. Chief Hall informed the Board that he continues to have classes with Churches. Chief Hall: stated that plans are being made pertaining to the Covid-19. Chief Hall Mike Collins Recreation Director informed the Board that the Recreation Board would be meeting next week and that travel ball is hurting our recreation program. Registration completed for baseball, softball and adult softball will begin next week. Mr. Collins stated that the park will be active on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays. Mr. Collins updated the Board that Amy Johnson is working with Campbell students to paint and Rodney Pleasant Public Works Director presented his report for the month of February. Mr. Pleasant updated the Board that Zach Parker resigned and a new employee is starting Monday. (Reference #6) Liz Caudill Library Assistant presented the Library report for February and updated the Board on budget informed the Board that there was no change int the vehicle situation. (Reference #5) work on designs on the buildings. preparation, Bee Keeping and Adult reading program. (Reference #7) Nick Holcomb Town Manager updated the Board on the following items: 1. LKC Engineering study on the Abattoir Road Water Improvements- Hydraulic Study Report. 2. Covid-19- - Implementing washing hands, desk area- Schools, Library and Parks closing. 3. Parking Lot - Everyone stating it looks good, brick wall being put up, no bids for construction, which 4. Budget - Department Managers working ont their departments for the Thursday night-Saturday (Reference #8) can be discussed on Saturday during the Budget workshop. work-shop will be to discuss Capital Planning, Salaries and parkingarea. Mayor Coats shared thei interest of Margaret House to have a Clean Sweep day possible 1st or 2nd of May. Areas mentioned that need attention are Post Office (not the Town property), Robert Ennis and Jay Street. Nick Holcomb Town Manager shared that this was a project that the Beautification Committee is working on. Commissioner Mosby stated his concerns with the liability for the Town to take this project on. Nick Holcomb Town Manager suggested that service groups could volunteer. VII. PUBLIC FORUM: Mayor Coats opened Public Forum. (Reference #9) Pat Godwin Chamber Director updated the Board on the following. 1. Re-Grand Opening - Miller's 12 p.m. 2. Lunch and Learn - March 25, 2020 $5 lunch donation 3. Oyster & Shrimp Roast rescheduled for September 4. Entertainment called Crank Up Coats 3 Mayor Coats closed Public Forum.
