0) AN ORDINANCE PROHIBITING THE DISCHARGE AND POSSESSION OF FIREARMS; EXCEPTIONS Section 1.01 Discharge of Firearms, generally. Its should be unlawful for any persons to discharge a gun, rifle, pistol or other firearm within the Town of Bermuda Run. Section 2.01 Exceptions. ()Exceptions. This section shall not be construed as prohibiting discharge ofai firearm when used: (a) In defense of person or property; (b) Pursuant to lawful directions of law enforcement officers; (c) By licensed persons lawfully engaged in pest control or the taking of dangerous animals; or (d). At historic ceremonial or commemoration functions held for such purpose provided in no event shall live ammunition be used or discharged. Section 3.01 Possession of firearms prohibited in certain places. Itshall be unlawful for any person toj possess or carry, or to fire or discharge any gun, rifle, pistol or other firearms on or in any building, park, recreation area or other property owned or operated by the Town (whether within or outside the corporate limits). The Town Manager shall post appropriate signage indicating such prohibition. Section 4.01 Exclusions. (1)This section shall not apply to an officer lawfully discharging his duty, or to a watchman or other person specifically authorized to carry firearms on such premises while acting lawfully and within the scope ofhis authority; nor shall it prohibit the lawful possession or carrying or firearms on the public streets. (2) None of the provisions oft this section shall be construed SO as to prohibit law enforcement officers from discharging firearms within the corporate limits of the city on any firing range maintained for the trailing of law enforcement officers when such firing is conducted for training purposes under the supervision and direction of an officer in charge oft the training program.
