DERMUD 02014-01 AN ORDINANCE REGULATING SOLICITING, BEGGING, ANDPANHANDLING Soliciting, Begging, and Panhandling. Purpose. Thej purposes oft the restrictions on soliciting, begging and panhandling imposed (1) Reduce the detrimental effect that threatening and intimidating conduct has on a safe (2) Restrict certain aggressive acts ofsolicitors without prohibiting constitutionally (3) Maintain the peace and order of the town and preserve and protect the rights ofall (4) Toi maintain safe, orderly and free flow oft traffic along roadways within the Town's Definition. Beg, solicit or panhandle includes, without limitation, use oft the spoken, written, or printed word, or other acts as are conducted in the furtherance ofthe purpose ofimmediately collecting contributions for the use ofoneself or others. As used in this ordinance, the word "solicit," and its forms, includes begging and panhandling.
