Village of Cedar Rock a.m. on, July 18, 2023.  Minutes  The regular meeting of the Village of Cedar Rock was held at Cedar Rock Country Club at 11:30  Call to Order: Mayor Bob Floyd called the meeting to order.  Attendance: Present were Mayor Bobl Floyd, Ernie McAteer, Bill Griffin, Mike Shows and Pamela Mayberry, and Daniel Odom with Western Piedmont Council of Government. Adopt Agenda: Ernie McAteer: made ai motion to adopt the agenda; Mike Shows seconded; agenda Approval of Minutes: Mike Shows made a motion to. adopt the minutes; Bill Griffin seconded; Committee Reports: Administrative: Pam Mayberry informed Council that she sent an email out toall the residents to update their information for the Village Directory recently. Finance: Bill Griffin stated that as of June 30, 2023, the current assets of the Village is $596,120.69 and the Village should finish up the month ofJune with expenditures all in good shape, and all bills are upt to date. Bill Griffin thanked Ernie McAteeri fori the fireworks show that was enjoyed by all and payment has been sent out to Zambelli. Bob Floyd suggested that the Village may want to consider having the forestry service do an assessment of the timber for a select cut to keep the trees in the Village healthy. Transportation: Ernie McAteer stated that he didn't trust the low bid on the curbing of Cedar Rock Estates Drive from Hickory Sealing and Striping, sO he met with someone with Hickory Sealing and Striping last Friday and the representative said that it was not a good idea to trap water for that large of an area as it would cause flooding in the road. Mr. McAteer: stated there is no good solution, may have tol hand dig toi identify where the culvert is broken, and may need to camera the culvert again to try to locate the break. Mr. McAteer will reach out again on getting a camera. Mr. McAteer mentioned that Diversified Landscaping will begin trimming the Bradford Pear Trees at the west entrance soon. Mr. McAteer informed Council that Casey's Landscaping has backed out of the job cleaning out the right of ways. Mr. McAteer will drive around the neighborhood with someone else regarding the job. Pam Mayberry mentioned a tree that is down on Mountain Circle Drive that is blocking one side of traffic, Mr. McAteer will contact' Tyler Sime to clear the right of way. Code Enforcement Report: Nothing to report. Planning Board: Nothing to report. Staff Report: Daniel Odom's comments  approved. minutes approved.  are under Old Business Camera Speed Control Device below. New Business: There was no new business.  Old Business: Camera Speed Control Device: Mayor Bob Floyd directed Council to a power point on the Traffic Hawk system for, Council to consider that Daniel Odom has supplied for Council to review. Bill Griffin said that he liked the solar radar speed sign instead of a hidden camera. Mr. Griffin stated he didn't like it looking like the Village was trying to catch residents speeding. Daniel Odom will reach out for testimonials from communities using the camera systems. Mike Shows suggested that should the Village decide to use a camera system that the Council send out a letter to the residents letting them know. Deer Management Assistance Program: Pam Mayberry informed Council that it was too late for the Village to apply for the    Deer Management Assistance Program and that she has calendared to form a committee probably in May of next year to discuss procedures that would have to be in place prior to  deciding ift the program is a good option for the Village.
